So far this year, we have managed to raise £149.72 for the Bat Conservation Trust, from the donations generated from our customers purchases. This is a great start to the year and we have decided to donate the money to the National Bat Helpline.
The Bat Helpline receives over 10,000 enquiries each year from many callers including building and planning professionals and householders. As a result, thousands of bats are rescued and cared for and many bat roosts are conserved.
During the summer of 2014 the National Bat Helpline had 5709 enquiries about bats in need of help, meaning that the majority of the Helpline enquiries were calls from bat finders. However, the Bat Conservation Trust does not receive any funding to give callers advice and administrate the Bat Care Network.
Our donation will contribute towards producing new bat care resources, providing better support for the Network, and offering training courses in bat care. Without donations such as ours, the Helpline could not operate. Just £3 covers the cost of a call to the Helpline, enabling the BCT to continue to give advice to finders of grounded and injured bats. We would like to say a massive thank you to all our customers for your loyalty and support, and consequently allowing us to donate to such a worth while cause. We do hope you continue to support us and we look forward to funding many more conservation projects for the BCT.
